In following the tradition of the software world where the first program in a language is customarily-called a "Hello World", I would like to follow that same tradition, even in a literary sense.
So, here's the Tech Kalam blog's "Hello World" (or, in other words, "How we Came to be Here.")
It all started years ago in the early days of my foray into technology.
I was excited and nervous; and hopeful and, at times, helpless.
I wish it could all make sense and let the pieces fall into the proper places.
That's the practice of technology, of course.
Having maintained my own personal blog, Jalloh.net, I was no stranger to the world of technology.
But the basic programming classes I had had in college thus far did not address the very reason I was initially so excited about Software Engineering: how can I now apply my basic knowledge of programming into the practice of web development?
I had no intention to continue developing Wordpress or Joomla-powered sites, nor did I want to learn PHP "proper" because I had already invested three semesters into learning Python.
So, I decided to go off and start learning on my own using books, tutorials, workshops here and there and the occasional guides, pointers and conversations I would have with more experienced developers. It worked. But not without a lot of trrouble along the way.
I wished there was a platform that brought together tutorials for beginning and intermediate developers (in all the various parts of the web development stack) as well as practical guides on the art and craft of how to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Thus, NodeVersity was born to serve that need of a central platform that joined these pieces of the "tech puzzle" together.
But it would take me years to actually sit down and implement the idea. And, here, finally, it is.
In simple terms: If you are looking to just "keep up" with what what's going on in the tech world, the "Tech Kalam" blog is your gateway.
If you are a beginning or intermediate developer looking to learn (or relearn) the craft of software development and best practices (whether you are leaning towards backend, frontend or Full Stack development), then the "Dev Room" is where you will get a lot of practical skills to help you move ahead in your pursuit of tech mastery.
If you are a business owner who is curious-cum-concerned about how technology does and/or could apply to your organization or work, you should keep an eye on the "Enterprise Tech" blog where I cover more of those issues.
So, Hello World, and welcome! :)
